About the Space for Reading

The Space for Reading in the Weston Library is a co-produced pop-up library open to everyone.

You are welcome to use the space for browsing the books, meeting friends, taking a break and just relaxing.

The Space for Reading is themed either connected to one of our current exhibitions or a wider partnership. The theme changes twice a year.

The current theme is 'Neurodiversity and reading' and is the result of a six-month partnership between the Bodleian Libraries and Iffley Academy.

Books in the space are recommended by staff, volunteers and community groups and the wider public, and the final selection is made by representatives from these different audiences. Inside each book you will find the recommendation from the person who chose it, so that the stories behind the choices are featured in the space.

The Space for Reading is also used by different community groups as a meeting and discussion space, and can be reserved on request. If you would like to use the Space for Reading as a group meeting space, please contact publicengagement@bodleian.ox.ac.uk.
